EDL 2014 Celebrations
A pensive moment for a grade 7 student at St. Brigid Catholic Elementary School in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada deciding which European language to further explore in the online interactive whiteboard game called "Talk to me!" Once decided, the words "talk to me" will be spoken in the chosen language and the country/countries where the language is spoken will be identified on a European map. A linguistic and geographical European voyage!
We did the following activities at the St Joseph school, Toledo, Ontario.
Canada: Hi in European languages, talk to me in European languages. I talked about artists, popular people and languages they speak, we practiced tongue twisters, animal sounds and longest words.

Goethe-Institut Montreal
The Goethe-Institut Montreal and its partners organized their first EDL with a few mini language classes in Catalan, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

The European Day of languages at St Joseph school, Toledo, Ontario, Canada, the little school with a BIG heart. What a great day. Use of the Québec Sign language to teach French as a second language. How to say HI and I LOVE YOU in many languages. Practice of animal sounds in different countries.
St. Brigid Catholic Elementary School, Stouffville, ON
The elementary school students did this beautiful work to represent their heritage languages in the form of puzzle pieces upon which they drew their heritage flags. These puzzle pieces all fit together and were placed onto a template in the forms of 3 oversized maple leaves.
